Patricia Lynn Paul

October 28, 1955 — December 21, 2010

Patty was born in Roseburg on October 28, 1955 to Wilma and Reuel Phillips Jr. She graduated from Roseburg High School in 1973 and began a career in banking at Douglas National Bank. She spent her last 14 years at Umpqua Bank, as VP Manager of Store Operations, where she received numerous awards for excellence in customer service. She was loved and respected by all of her staff and co-workers and she felt the same about them. Patty was an active member of 4H in sewing and made many of her own clothes during her school years. Patty completed her solo pilot license on her 16th birthday, before she got her driver's license. On July 31, 1982 she married Robert Paul and they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, listening to Pink Martini, her favorite band at Music on the Half Shell. Patty lost her year-long battle with sarcoma cancer on December 21, 2010. She was preceded in death by her mother Wilma and Grandfather Reuel Phillips. Survivors include her husband Robb, father Reuel Phillips Jr., brother Mike Phillips and Grandmother Pauline Phillips of Roseburg, son Jared Links and his wife Tonilia, grandson Piers Links, step granddaughter Heather Boettcher, of Portland, and many friends in the area. A special thanks to her girlfriends that have been caring for her daily over the past year, Tammy Jordan, Claudia Shukle, Laura Crosier, Rachel Thompson and Penny Oresik. Her wit, smile and laughter will truly be missed. A celebration of Patty's life will be held at Douglas County Fairgrounds, Community Building on January 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Family Development Center, 300 Jerrys Dr., Roseburg, OR 97470.
