Pearl Jean (Liermann) Kruusi
Coos Bay, Oregon - Pearl Jean (Liermann) Kruusi, age 88, passed into the arms of Jesus her Lord and Savior on November 30th. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all whose lives she touched.
Pearl was born on October 10, 1932 in Orange, California and loved to share the fact that she was born on the 10th day of the 10th month and weighed 10 pounds, 10 ounces. She was the fifth of six children born to Henry and Frieda Liermann.
During her freshman year at Orange Union High School she began taking vocal classes and after she was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1947 she began to sing in the choir. Thus began a long history of using her remarkable soprano voice to sing for the Lord. Pearl graduated from Orange High School in the Class of 1950 and pursued Beauty Operator training at Fullerton Junior College in Southern California.
It was during this time that a young Estonian World War II Refugee named Edward Kruusi caught her eye in the congregation of St. John's. She obtained both her Beauty Operator's License and Edward's engagement ring on January 3, 1952. They were married on May 3rd, 1952 and spent 63 years together until Edward went to be with the Lord on December 17, 2015.
Pearl was a dedicated wife and mother, and she treasured her children and grandchildren. She was a talented cook and vocalist who loved to do crafts and paint. She cared about people in the most sincere and unconditional way; she was a helper to any who needed help. Pearl was a devout Lutheran and her strong faith was a witness to all who crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Frieda (Bock) Liermann, brothers Gilbert and Harry Liermann, sisters Mabel Trumpy and Berdell Rowell, husband Edward Kruusi and son Robert Duane Kruusi.
Pearl will be lovingly remembered by her Baby sister Vida Walker, as well as her Children Georgia Kruusi, Earl Kruusi, Linda Mason Kruusi, Ella Bridges and Tammy Shannon . She will also be remembered and missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Wilson’s Chapel of the Roses. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roseburg Oregon.
