Peggy Jean Koch

Peggy Jean (Ostrander) Koch passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, after a courageous eight year journey. She was born January 3, 1947 in Roseburg, the daughter of Charles and Phyllis Ostrander. She attended Roseburg schools and the University of Oregon.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Stephen Koch; son, Michael Koch and his fiance, Marlies Maze; daughter, Mari (Troy) Dybowski; grandchildren, Alex Koch, Darien and Lovelynn Dybowski; three sisters, Sharon Ostrander, Penny (Brian) Pargeter, and Susan (Bradley) Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diamond Lake Resort was her home for more than 50 years, where she worked with her husband to further the success of the resort.

Peggy was a gifted musician. She began playing the piano at age three and was able to replicate anything she heard from classical to rock and roll and everything in between. Peggy entertained frequently at Diamond Lake. In high school she was the entire orchestra for many musicals produced at Roseburg High.

Peggy had a way of lifting the spirits of all she met with her music and wonderful sense of humor. Wherever she was, there was laughter. We will all miss her bright spirit. She was truly a treasure.

In lieu of flowers, Peggy requested that donations be sent in her name to Saving Grace, where she found her beloved little companion "Poppy," or to the Roseburg Cancer Center.

Services will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 1 p.m. There will be a gathering at the family's ranch following the service. Condolences and fond memories may be shared with Peggy's family in this online guestbook.
