Phyllis Charlotte W. Hokanson was born August 11, 1932 in Chicago, IL and died on August 15, 2024 in Roseburg, OR. She was the daughter of Herbert S Wulff and Phyllis Lelia Willson Wulff, and was reared in Glen Ellyn, IL.
The family moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1962. Phyllis graduated from Arizona State University with a Master's Degree in Education and Home Economics. Her numerous activities centered around her family and St Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church. Phyllis was Directress of the Altar Guild, Directress of the Diocesan Altar Guild and President of the National Altar Guild Association. In addition, she served as President of the Episcopal Church Women and member of the Diocesan Council. She served as a Board Member of the Scottsdale Honors Cotillion.
Phyllis prepared memorable family favorite dishes and desserts for numerous holiday meals and special occasions. Her skilled spirit in food art and hospitality created lasting memories for her family and friends.
Phyllis is survived by her son Bradley (Alexa) Hokanson of Cottonwood, AZ and her daughter Claudia (Mark) Stockwell of Roseburg, OR, one grandson Erik Stockwell of Andover, MA, a sister Joan Brinkman of Scottsdale, AZ and a brother Herbert (Sharon) Wulff of Penn Velley, CA. Her grandson Matthew Stockwell predeceased her in Houston, TX.
A memorial service will be held at St Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church at 6715 N Mockingbird Lane in Paradise Valley, AZ at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
