Ramona Louise Platt

November 19, 1928 — February 2, 2018

Ramona Louise Platt, 89 passed away on February 2, 2018 at her home in Roseburg, Oregon. She was born on November 19, 1928 in Racine, Wisconsin to Arthur and Marjorie Evans.
Mona grew up in Racine, Wisconsin where she graduated from Park High School 1946. After high school she earned her certification in bookkeeping and accounting.  In high school, she met Robert Charles Platt and would later become his wife. They were married on December 30, 1950 while home on leave from the Air Force.
Ramona went to work for the officer’s club at Tachikawa Air Force base in Japan. On April 1, 1960, her only daughter, Lisa was born, and for several years they traveled back and forth overseas to the United States.  Bob was deployed to Bangkok, Thailand during the Viet name war, and so Mona and Lisa moved to Racine, Wisconsin.
She worked various bookkeeping/accounting jobs at St. Luke’s Hospital in Racine, Wisconsin, Universal Foods and Stella Cheese in Beloit, Wisconsin, where she retired and eventually moved to Fort Worth, Texas to live with her daughter. She worked several years at International Benefit Services, Corp and USI Administrator’s after her retirement.
She was a very active member in the American Business Women’s Association holding every officer position.  She was named the Business Woman of the Year for many years.
Ramona moved to Oregon in 2014 to live the rest of years with her daughter and Gillian Flynn, whom she called her little princess and adored since her birth in 2001.Gillian always referred to her as Nana. Ramona is survived by her daughter, Lisa Platt, Roseburg, Oregon, and Gillian S. Flynn, Roseburg, Oregon and her little 4-legged buddy, Sophie.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at McAuley Chapel, at Mercy Medical Center, 2700 Steward Parkway, Roseburg, Oregon on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:30 am.
Lisa and Gillian would like to thank Nana’s care companions over the years: Teresa Richardson, Tina Bidwell, Becky Day, Charlene Van Cleave, Brenda Cooper, Jola Kieler, and Katie Follmar.  All of you brought joy to her and we so appreciate the care and love you extended to her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Mercy Foundation, Inc.
