RANCE EUGENE WIGGINS 87 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 in a local Memory Care Center. He was born May 21, 1922 in El Dorado, Illinois to Rance Benjamin and Helen (Crawford) Wiggins. Rance enlisted in the US Army and served as a Medic from December 17, 1940 until July 7, 1945. After the war, he worked as a motorcycle policeman in Racine, Wisconsin for several years. He later worked for Lockheed wiring airplanes and through the course of years they sent him all over the world. On September 12, 1971 in Ft. Worth, Texas he married Delories M. Peterson who preceded him in death on July 18, 2002. Rance and Delories moved from Southern California to Roseburg, Oregon in 1984. He was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodges. Rance was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he taught Biblical History. His hobbies include researching Biblical History on his computer, traveling and woodworking and making furniture. Survivors include Terrance Wiggins, Randy Wiggins, Patricia Fields, Robert Peterson, Deborah Hoyle and Terry Peterson. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, October 30, 2009 at 12:10 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Panneer Sulvam, Celebrant. Private cremation rites have been held. Inurnment will be held in the Roseburg National Cemetery. Wilson's Chapel of the Roses is in charge of arrangements.
