Richard "Dick" Hayes, 74, died at a local hospital Friday, May 14, 2010. He was born June 13, 1935, in Glendale, Oregon to the late Wesley and Grace (Roger) Hayes. Dick completed the 12th grade and served in the Air Force for 3 ½ years. He was united in marriage to Glenda Lee Walters for 42 years. Dick worked in the timber industry as a logger. Mr. Hayes participated with the Eagles Lodge of Sutherlin, Elk's Lodge of Myrtle Creek, American Legion of Roseburg, and the VFW of Winston. In addition he was active in Good Sam Travel Club and a fishing club. Survivors include his son Glen Hayes and daughter in law Beci Mahoney; grandkids, Randy, Blake; great grand children Corey, and Purity. Dick was also preceded in death by his wife Glenda Hayes, sons Ronnie and Rick, sisters Norma, and Rozalia, and a brother Wesley. No funeral services are planned at this time as per his request.
