Richard Alan Winkelman

Richard A Winkelman, 29, of Roseburg passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on July 28, 1984. Richard graduated from Sutherlin High School.He lived in the Roseburg area for nineteen years, and spent 10 years in Carson City, Nevada. Richard spent the last 4 1/2 years working in the food service industry, and was a very dedicated, hard working individual. You could always count on him to be there in a moment's notice on his days off if needed. He volunteered for animal shelters whenever possible. His goal was to save every animal possible. He enjoyed cooking, and was an excellent cook. Everyone always looked forward to his BBQ's. He loved spending time with family, fishing, hunting, and gardening. Richard is survived by his mother, Julie Meil and Nilsen Meil, Stepdad of Glide, Grandparents Bud & Evelyn Shepherd of Glendale OR, and Aunts, Uncles and numerous cousins who always looked up to him as their hero, and other relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses on Wednesday, January 29 at 2:00 p.m.
