Of Roseburg, Oregon, peacefully passed away while surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 27, 2016.
Bob was born July 21, 1935, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, to Robert and America Burns. His family then moved to Oregon, where he attended, and graduated from, Reedsport Union High School. This is also where he met the love of his life, Bette. Bob and Bette were married in May of 1955, and had two children, Bill and Barbara.
Bob worked in construction as a carpenter, and then Foreman. He received multiple safety awards and prided himself on his high work standard.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and America Burns; and his brother, Thomas Burns.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Bette Burns; son, Robert (Bill) Burns; daughter, Barbara Robinson; grandson, Kris Robinson and his wife Rebecca; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great friends.
The Burns family would like to offer their thanks to Brookdale Senior Living, where Bob resided for the past three years, and Amedisys Hospice for bringing comfort to Bob and his family during his final days.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Wilbur United Methodist Church in Wilbur, OR, with refreshments to follow. The family requests no flowers and instead wishes that you spend quality time with your family this holiday season.
