ROBERT LEE POPP 85 of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 in Roseburg surrounded by family and friends. He was born May 10, 1932 in Olympia, Washington. Bob joined the Army in 1950, fought in the Korean War and was discharged in 1954. He loved fishing, hunting and trips to Diamond Lake, Crater Lake and the coast. Bob's passion were logging and spending time with his family. He worked over 30 years for Basco Logging as a cat skinner and road builder. In fact he love WORK so much he worked up to the day before he died. Survivors include his son Robert Popp Jr. (Catherine); daughter Linda Popp; 2 grandchildren Marin Whitaker and McKenzie Popp; one great grandchild Kaelyn Whitaker; sister Eileen Gardner (Harold) and many supportive nieces and nephews. Bob is now reunited with his mom and dad (Joe and Florence Popp); step-dad Karl, oldest daughter Robin and a brother LaVern Popp. Per his request Bob was cremated and no service was held. However Bob's family is planning a celebration of his life in the summer and family and friends will be notified. Please visit
