Robert F. Fisher 87, of Azalea Oregon, passed away on October 23, 2018. He was born July 2, 1931 to Frank and Aileen Fisher in Whittier CA. The family moved to Azalea after WW II and he graduated from Glendale High School in 1949. He joined the Navy and served as a radio operator during the Korean War on an LST. He married the love of his life, Betty Sipkins, in 1950 and they had three children. They owned and operated Michel’s Building Supply in Glendale OR for over thirty years. Retiring in 1993, he and Betty traveled the country in their travel trailer with many of their life-long friends. He was an amazing gardener and an avid reader but his passion was his woodworking. He created the most intricate ornaments and figurines using a scroll saw. He and Betty were long time participants at the Christmas Fair in Roseburg where they both displayed their creative talents. Betty passed away in 2014. Survivors include children Beverly (Jody) Farley, Corvallis OR; Brad (Bernadette) Fisher, Azalea OR; Barbara (David) Potter, Jefferson OR. Grandchildren Derek Potter, Emily Potter and Tyrel (Brynna) Farley. Great grandchildren Tayla and Ivy Farley.
