MILLER, Robert London - Age 89 of Sutherlin passed on Saturday May 10th after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born to George and Lela (London) Miller on November 5th 1918 in Elmwood, Nebraska. Robert served his nation for more than 20 years with the U.S. Air Force, was a survivor of Bataan and spent 3 ½ years in captivity as a POW in Japan until being released after V.J. Day. Robert continued to serve until 1960. Robert married Marjorie Stewart and from that union had two sons David B. Miller and wife Lisa of San Jose, California and Alan S. Miller of Billings, Montana; later marring Sheila Kimberling whose children Jayma Richardson and Wendy Gums are from California. On November 19th 1988 he married Carol D. McCord and became the step father of Michael Hambrick of Sutherlin and Pat Hambrick of Tracy California. Robert has many Grandchildren, Step Grandchildren and Great Grand Children: Stephen, Linsay, Michele, Erika, Aaron, Jessica, Joshua, Douglas, LeAnn, Nick, Kalob, Jayden and Alexa; Also many Nieces, Nephews and friends. Robert is survived by one sister Sylvia Meisinger of Ashland, Nebraska, and has been preceded in death by his parents and 12 of his siblings.
