Robert V. Triplett

Robert "Bob" Virl Triplett Bob passed away April 8, 2011 in his sleep at age 83 at home. He was surrounded by his children and good friends as he wished. He was born on February 7,1928 to parents James and Nellie (Bacon) Triplett in Rainier, Oregon. After serving in the Army he decided to travel, broke down in Roseburg and went to work at Firestone. While there he met Donna and did not continue his travels for many years. He married Donna Lee Pinard on October 3, 1953 in Roseburg. He worked in a sawmill then for Roseburg Disposal until he started with the City of Roseburg in 1965. He worked his way up to foreman of the Street Dept and retired in 1988. Bob has always been active in his community, as a volunteer fireman, Roseburg Police Reserve Captain, Salvation Army chairman and helping any way he could lend a hand. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed camping and square dancing with his wife, family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Donna Lee; his parents; 10 brothers and sisters including his twin brother, Richard. He is survived by his children Linda (Ron) Rogers, James (Destiny), Lawrence, and Steven (Toni); 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous special friends including his best friend, Norm Neal. Viewing will be at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses Friday, April 15 at 6 pm with a Rosary at 7. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Salvation Army Disaster Van or Mercy Hospice.
