Robert Lee White

Robert Lee White age 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in Roseburg, OR, his home of 43 years. He was born September 4, 1938, in Fonda, Iowa, to parents Joseph and Ardella White. Bob graduated from Pisgah Iowa High School in 1957, and then went on to the School of Radiology in Tucson, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army from October 12, 1957, to May 7, 1964. While in the Army, Bob was a Medical Corpsman, and went o basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, then Medical Corpsman training at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Bob retired from Mercy Medical Center, and the VA Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon, as a Radiology Technician in 1987.

Bob loved fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. He always loved woodworking and making things for our mom. He loved dancing, everyone watched him when he danced, and he was the life of the party. He was elegant, and loved his family. He enjoyed watching Westerns, RVing, and seeing new places. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents John and Emily White; great-grandparents Joseph and Rosa Knoblauch; and his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Kay White in 2003; and brother Donald Joseph White in 2009. He survived by his sons and their wives, Gregory Dean White and Evelyn, of Manteca, CA, Daniel Lee White and Pamela, of Colorado Springs, CO, Kristopher Robin White and Jin, of Spanaway, WA; sisters and their husbands, Charlotte and Garret Rickman, of Fresno, CA, Rose and Mike Arndt, of Richland, WA; grandchildren Ashley White, David White, Michael and Timothy White, and Arlyn Rhea P. Bayan; nieces and nephews, Renee Novo, Michelle Rickman, Carmen Stuve, Michael Arndt Jr., Terry Arndt and Andrea Comley; and friend Henrietta Gonzales. The family would like to thank the PCU staff at Mercy Medical Center.

There will be a funeral service on Friday, January 23, 2015, at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roseburg, Oregon. Father Jose Manuel Campos will be officiating. A burial service will be held at 1p.m. at the new VA National Cemetery, in Roseburg, Oregon. A Wake will start on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 7 p.m. There will be a viewing at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials may be offered to St. Josephs Church in the name of Robert Lee White.
