Age 90, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, in his home. He was born in Sugarcreek, Ohio, and became a resident of Roseburg, Oregon, in 1979. Bob and his wife enjoyed traveling in their RV throughout the United States and Canada. They especially loved the Oregon Coast. Bob's greatest joy was his garden and tending his beef cattle. He spent most of his working years as a truck driver, driving logging trucks, car carriers and spent the last 17 years driving semi truck for Safeway before moving to Roseburg. Bob was a Ford man and anyone that knew him, knew that. He was also an honest and kind man. He lived by principles and will be missed tremendously by those that knew and loved him.
Bob was a loving husband and father, and is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Wyss; daughter, Barbara Murphy and son-in-law, Dan Murphy of Canada; daughter, Diana Smith and son-in-law, Robert Smith of Roseburg; Grandchildren, Donovan Murphy and Shannon Erskine of Canada; Adam Smith of Roseburg; Monica Smith of Salem, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Sheree Drummond of Walnut Creek, California; Great-Grandchildren; Tanner, McKenna, Kaellen Erskine of Canada.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia of 29 years and his son, Ronald.
A celebration of life will be set for a future date in Fremont, California.
