Rodney Felch Snow

September 15, 1942 — December 1, 2023

Rodney “Rod” Felch Snow passed away peacefully during the night on December 1, 2023, in his Roseburg home.

Rod was 81 years of age and his passing was unexpected. He was born on September 15, 1942, in Roseburg, Oregon. He was the son of Hilda Louise Gurney, his mother, and John Snow, his father. Dale McFerrin was his “DAD” and raised him in the historical town of Oakland, Oregon.
He was working and enjoying the company of his co-workers, one, Jean Lavonne O'Brien. Shortly thereafter she became his wife. They just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary and both were looking forward to another 36 years.

Rod graduated from Oregon State University with a Degree as an Electrician. He became an employee of Roseburg Forest Product; he gained tenure with his skills and dedication all the way through to his retirement.

Early in his retirement he enjoyed traveling and touring with his wife; his hobbies included hiking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He built a beautiful bird house and placed it atop a pedal stool outside the living room window so they could enjoy the feathered friends; that was short- lived when a cat moved it.

Thereafter he simply started enjoying the quiet life, watching the deer sleeping under his tree, sitting on his front porch atop the hill watching the airplanes on the runway, occasional fireworks, the view of Roseburg, with short drives and overnight stays to the Oregon Coast with his wife.
