Ronald S Knapp

Ronald S. Knapp passed away on Dec. 1, 2018, after a long battle of Heart disease and kidney complications. Ron spent his final days at home with his family, per his request. Ron was born in Albany, California on December 10, 1936, to Samuel and Mildred Knapp. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his Brothers Gary and Milton, and a Sister Sandra. He is survived by his brother Donald Knapp. Ron and Sherlane (Watkins) Knapp were married in 1957, and she resides in Roseburg along with their Daughters Ronda (Steve) Sticlair, Jody (Tommy) Sommers, and Kelly (David) West. Ron also enjoyed his ten grandchildren and fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
Ron grew up in Albany, California, but after a three-year stint in the Army, in Germany, he resided in Bend, Oregon. It was there he met Sherlane Watkins and they began a sixty plus year marriage. Ron worked as a Log Truck Driver and eventually found his future in Law Enforcement. He became a Police Officer in Bend and later in Coos Bay, OR until his retirement in 1995. Ron found his training of K-9 dogs, camping and hunting and fishing with family his greatest joys. He also enjoyed playing cards whenever the time was there. He went on hunting trips to Alaska, Fishing vacations to Mexico, loved fishing Diamond Lake, taking all with him. Per Ron’s wishes a remembrance of life will be held December 15, 2018, at Calapooia Clubhouse (141 Scott Henry Road, Oakland, Oregon) please bring your favorite dish in Celebration Ron’s Life.
