Rosa Lea Wittwer

Passed away on September 3, 2013 at the age of 75.
Rosa was born May 14, 1938 in Talco, Texas to Ray and Ruby Simpson. While still a baby, they moved to Porterville, California. There she attended school and graduated from the 8th grade. Then the family moved to Glide, Oregon in 1952. She attended Glide High School and graduated in 1956. September 8, 1956 she married Bernard Wittwer. They had two children Doris Jolene Wittwer (Bice) and Bernard Darrell Wittwer.
She is survived by her husband Barnard , their daughter; Doris Jolene and her husband Randy Bice, and grandson Cody Bice.
In 1977 Rosa went to work for the U.S. Postal Service. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service in September 1990. On October 28, 1991 she received a kidney transplant.
Rosa Lea enjoyed making all types of craft projects. She and Bernard did a lot of traveling all around the United States and into Mexico. They also traveled into Canada, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy. They spent several winters in Yuma, Arizona.
One of the saddest moments of her life was losing their son Darrell in 1984 in a logging accident. She was also preceded in death by her mother Ruby, father Ray, sister Raylene Cooper and son Darrell Wittwer
Graveside service to be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses.
