On April 24th Shirley E Dompier, 83, left us to walk with God, friends, and family. She was the oldest daughter of Ethel and Phares Book, Wife of Elmer and mother of two boys, Gene the oldest of LaPine and Rick of Roseburg. She was also the grandmother to several grandkids, numerous great grandkids, and the aunt to even more nieces and nephews. One brother , Eugene of Klamath Falls also survived her. She was a nurse of 37 years where she retired from the VA. She was strong, fair and a caring person who was very independent. She lived alone for 38 years after loosing her husband of 30 years in 1980. Anyone who took the time to get to know her fell in love with her. At the end she was being taken care of by one of her granddaughters, Amy that she loved and adored. She was also being taken care of by Katie, someone that became more than a caregiver, more of a daughter and friend. This woman I speck was; no, is my mother and she will be missed.
