At the age of 86, Stanley passed away with his three children by his side, after a short and painless bought with cancer.
Stanley was born in Canton, Illinois, to Sturgill and Loretta Walker. They moved to Roseburg when he was a teenager. He graduated from Roseburg High School in 1948, he then went into the Navy, and was stationed in Monterey, California, as a Aviation Machinist, Male Second Class.
He owned three planes and had a love of flying.
He spent many years working for Abby's Pizza here in Roseburg and Klamath Falls.
Survivors include his sister Marilyn Mobley, her son Gordon Mobley (wife/Debbie), daughter Joyce Squire and numerous niece and nephews from her side; children; son Bruce Walker; daughters Karen Sox (husband/Gregg); Janice Quist (husband/Gary); grandchildren Alicia Walker, Tory Sox, Justin Walker, Jordan Steele; great-grandchildren Justice Ortegon, Montana Holcomb, Kade Walker; surrogate daughter Andreana Daniels and her three children.
A military service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Roseburg National Cemetery located on the VA grounds.
