Stanley David Williams

Stanley Williams age 84, of Winchester, Oregon, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 965 W. Harvard Ave, Roseburg, OR 97471, Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. A reception will be held after the service at 2232 Hebard Ave, Roseburg, OR 97471. Stanley was born in Coquille, Oregon on May 15, 1931. Stanley married his late wife Marjorie Williams on September 2, 1955; they were married for 58 years. Stanley is survived by his daughter Jill Dimock and her husband Edward Dimock; his grandchildren Megan McMurtrey and her husband Ian Chane, Rye McMurtrey and his wife Amber McMurtrey, Mandi Dimock, and Lauren Dimock; his great-grandchildren Maddi Chane, Allie Chane, Lily McMurtrey, and Abby McMurtrey; and his sister Joanne Billings. Stanley is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa McMurtrey; and his wife, Marjorie Williams.

Stanley was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hardworking, but humble man. He had a heart full of kindness to those he encountered, willing to give help to any person in need. Stanley thoroughly enjoyed sports. He followed Roseburg High School sports for 40 years, supporting them and attending their games. It is no surprise that he was a Beavers fan til the end, as he graduated from Oregon State University in 1958. Stanley was a man from meek beginnings, but made a future for himself. Stanley was dedicated to making sure that those he loved were cared for. As those who are left on this earth without Stanley mourn his loss, he has entered into eternal life with his daughter and wife. The love he had for Marjorie Williams was beautiful to see and witness, so one must rejoice because he has reunited with her. One must thank God for the precious moments many had with Stanley, what a wonderful man to have encountered. His kind heart, giving spirit, and precious smile will never be forgotten.
