Dr. Stephen K. Stanton, 64, of Winchester, passed away on Saturday after an extended illness. Stephen, a beloved husband and father, was born in Tarboro, North Carolina on December 26, 1947 to Sidney W. and Iris (Ralston) Stanton. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and son; Kevan (Joanna) Stanton of New York City, a daughter; Eileen Stanton of Roseburg, and a brother Lon (Kay) Stanton of Topeka. He is also survived by numerous extended family members who all loved him. Dr. Stanton attended the University of Kansas to be an Anesthesiologist and was employed at Douglas County Hospital and then Mercy Medical for many years. He was a Sigma Chi fraternity brother and a member of the AMA and the American Society of Anesthesiologists. He enjoyed golfing, camping and being a Boy Scout leader.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. A visitation will be from 9 AM until 11 AM at the McGilley Memorial Chapel - State Line,12301 State Line Rd, Kansas City Missouri on Saturday, November 3 with a Graveside to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City Mo. at 11:45 am.
