Tamera Jean Tibbetts Scatchard was born on July 14, 1956, and passed away at the tender age of 55, of heart failure due to an infection of her internal organs on October 17, 2011. She fought hard to stay alive but in the end her illness was too much for even her strength to overcome. A nurse at the ICU Unit of Mercy, remarked that in her 23 years of working at Mercy, she had never seen anyone fight so hard to stay alive. Another said that when she removed the life support equipment, after her passing, she had a smile on her face and appeared to be at peace.
She was born Tamera Jean Tibbetts, in Aitkin City, Aitkin County, Minnesota. She has lived all over the USA, including Minnesota, Arizona, both Northern and Southern California, South Dakota, New York and Oregon.
She was born to Omar James (O.J.) Tibbetts and Bonnie Lee Reber Tibbetts.
She is preceded in passing by her father, O.J. and mother, Bonnie; as well as her brother, Dell Nathaniel Tibbetts, who was killed in an auto accident.
She is succeeded by her son, Raymond Lee Latre and his wife, Lori Lynn Latre; her brother, Joshua Bartholomew Tibbetts and his wife, Brenda Kay Tibbetts; and her husband, Eric Arthur Scatchard; her three grandchildren, Michael James Latre, Jessica Lynn Latre, and Raymond Lee Latre-Huffman.
Tamera was married for the first time to Eric Arthur Scatchard on April 21, 1996, in Virginia City, Nevada. Tamera and Eric enjoyed 15+ years of marriage and 17+ years of life together. Their love grew stronger every day, through tough times and good.
Tamera was easily the most loving caring giving person to have ever graced this earth. She loved family, friends, and the simple things in life, like rain, birds, old buildings, and family get togethers. But most of all she loved her son. She will be missed by her son, brother, and husband, who were all with her during her final fight for life, as well as an innumerable amount of friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 22, at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg, Oregon. A celebration of life will take place at the Wild Rose Saloon immediately following the services. This will be the last chance for those she touched to say thank you for all her kind deeds. The family hopes you will attend.
