Ted Holder, of Sutherlin, passed away August 15, 2011 at the age of 91. He was born November 28, 1919, in Tacoma Washington, the oldest of 12 children born to Paul and Myrtle Holder. Ted served in the Army during WW II. He married Etta "Mickie" Fairless on June 16, 1945. They moved to Sutherlin in 1953, from Dorris, California. He worked in the saw mills until he retired in 1981. Ted is survived by his wife Mickie; sons Dan (Barb) of Dillard, Oregon and Sam (Mary) of Golden Colorado; daughters Judy (Dave) Bales of Roseburg and Jean (Paul) Crawford of Sutherlin; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother Charles Holder of Orville California; sisters Agnes Bollman of Riddle, Oregon, and Elva Amos of Libby, Montana. He was preceded in death by his grandson Theodore Samuel "Sam" Holder II; son-in-law Willas "Tink" Agee; parents; brothers Albert, Philip, Lloyd, and Jim Holder; sisters Pauline Lane, Helen Amos, Dorothy Holder and Gertie Holder. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Fair Oaks Cemetery on Fair Oaks Road.
