Thompson Deroy "Herb" Welch

Thompson "Herb" DeRoy Welch of Sutherlin, passed away November 11, 2016 at his home. Herb was born on May 10, 1933 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Forrest and Lucille Welch. He graduated from Arvin High School in Arvin, California and enlisted in the Navy. After Herb retired from Kern County, California, he and his wife, Joyce, moved to Sutherlin. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing. Herb is survived by his wife of 60+ years, Joyce; his son, Bob Welch; his daughter, Susie (Terry) Tidball; sister, Peggy; brother Jim; and grandchildren Justin, Katty and Trent. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sutherlin Chapel of the Roses.
