Valerie Gail Baird Saunders

Valerie Gail Baird Saunders, 39 of Sutherlin, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on May 19, 2012. She was born on May 15, 1973 in Roseburg, Oregon to Kenneth and Gail Baird. She graduated from Oakland High School with honors in music. She enjoyed camping, fishing and thought anytime was a good time for a fire and a weenie roast (rain or shine).
Valerie is survived by her parents, Kenneth and Gail Baird, Oakland, OR; maternal grandparents, Ray and Yvonne Murdock, Sutherlin, OR; son, Andrew Baird, Roseburg, OR; daughters, Brittney Saunders and Amanda Saunders, Oakland, OR; sister, Michelle Williams, Roseburg, OR; brother, Wade Baird, Sutherlin, OR; boyfriend, Troy Bradley, Sutherlin, OR; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Valerie is proceded in death by paternal grandparents, Elmer Baird and Betty Baird, and uncle Chuck Baird.
A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Mercy Medical Center, the LDS Church and caregiver Sarah Blum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 351 St. Johns St., Sutherlin, OR.
