One of Varlan’s close-to-the-heart enjoyments was music, playing guitar, and singing with his brother Myran Oberman, and the time he spent as a part of the group, the Reflections. He also enjoyed teaching and playing with his kids and grandkids the gift of music.
After the death of his wife, Ethel M. Oberman, in 2015, he married Lila (Brown) Hundley on November 9, 2019. They had almost five great years together, being close to their families, taking drives, camping & playing dice.
