Vera Anderson, age 87, passed away peacefully March 5, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon, with loved ones at her side.
Vera was born Feb. 9 1928 in Minot, North Dakota to A. B. and Caroline Jackson. She graduated from Minot High School in 1947. From an early age she developed a love for music. Whether it be playing her violin, saxophone, or being the drum majorette in front of the Minot marching band and being in the city band(s) in Montana. On April 17 1948, she married Dean Anderson in Minot, North Dakota. They enjoyed 58 years of marriage, until Dean's passing in 2007. During Dean's profession with J C Penney, through promotions with the company they lived in the states of North Dakota, Montana, California and Oregon a career lasted 43 years until Dean's retirement in Roseburg Oregon. Vera was a life time member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. Vera is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, son Tom, brother Kenneth, sisters Doris and Fern. She is survived by daughter Becky of Sutherlin, Oregon, daughter-in-law Jane, grandchildren Jeff, Kristie, and Kevin, great granddaughter Morgan all of Havre, Montana. Several special nieces and nephews. Vera was a very special woman and truly will be missed by so many. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses Tammy and Teresa of Mercy Medical Center, for all of their care and compassion during this difficult time. A very special thank you to Carol Graham, Connie Luzier and Jane Anderson for everything. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Wilbur United Methodist Church. Pastor Karlene Clark will officiate. Inurnment will follow within the grounds of Roseburg National Cemetery.
