Vera Wilson (Mcfadden) Wilson

Vera Wilson of Roseburg, Oregon passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on September 18, 2014. She was born in Fulton, Mississippi on February 6, 1923 to Thomas and Modene McFadden. Vera moved from Mississippi as a young adult to California, from there onto Oregon in 1946, where she stayed. She came from a large family of 10 children, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers.
On July 19, 1975 Vera married the love of her life Wallace Wilson. Vera had four children from a previous marriage, and gained four step children with their marriage.
Vera was a devout Christian. Her hobbies where quilting, gardening, and sharing her belief in god to anyone that would listen. Vera loved to laugh and pull good natured pranks on friends, and family. She told many ghost stories to her grandchildren. Vera loved being a mother, and grandmother caring and cooking for her family. The grandkids enjoyed having biscuits and chocolate, and chicken dumplings sprinkled with grandma's love. She will be remembered for being a sister, mother, wife, and grandmother.
Vera is survived by her loving husband Wallace Wilson, daughter Nancy Stevenson, step-children Wyonia (Dwight) Conkle; William Lee (Wendy) Wilson; Wayne David Wilson; Debbie Lynne, and brother Grandville (Jennie) McFadden, sister Walden Johnston, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, various nephews and nieces; and her Faithful companion "ChaCha".
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Thomas and Modene McFadden; daughter W. Sue Long, Nellie Crabtree, and son Larry "Butch" Waddle.
A memorial service will be held on September 30, 2014, at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses at 12:30pm. A private family burial will follow at Roseburg National Cemetery. A viewing will be from 9 am- 12 pm on September 30th at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses.
A special "THANK YOU" to everyone at Amedysis Hospice Care and the care giver's for providing wonderful care for Vera in her last few months.
