Born in Norman, OK, to Ruby and Elzie Wray. She lived her early childhood in Norman, Ok. They then moved to Lindsay, CA, where she lived until marrying Wallace Vodden. They lived in Yakima, WA, until 1953 when moving to Harrisburg, OR, then to Roseburg on mother's day of 1953 where she lived until her death.

She is proceeded in death by her brother Albert Wray of Woodburn, OR, she is survived by her husband Larry Boyles and Stepson Barry Boyles of Roseburg, OR, son Wally Vodden of Oregon City, OR, daughters Lila Fenn of Winston, OR, and Adra Hill of Albany, OR, 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren She is also survived by brothers Lyman Wray of Albany, OR, Dave Wray of Eugene, OR, sisters Linda McMannus of Brownsville, OR, Glenda Foshee of Halsey, OR, Geraldine Zemp of Eugene, Or, and Shirley Macal of Decorah, IA.

Verla was a member of Roseburg Rebekah Lodge for many years, she was also an Avon representative for 35 years. She also volunteered at the Friendly Kitchen for a number of years. She will be remembered for the Thanksgiving dinners with all the family gathered around. She loved to cook, sew, travel and be with her family. She enjoyed being at Westside Christian Church, especially on ladies night out.

Now it is our turn to let the world know how much she is loved and missed, Lila, Wally and Adra would like to thank Hospice and the wonderful staff of Ashley Manor where she lived this past year. Donations can be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
