Age 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Verlin (Tood) Mills was born March 25, 1929, in Canton, North Carolina, to Dan and Myrtle (Littrell) Mills. Verlin married the love of his life Darlene Laurie Mills on July 23, 1949, in Myrtle Creek, OR. They were married 62 years.
He is survived by sons Verlin D. (Penny), Michael (Denise), Jeffrey, Mark and Scott; and daughter-in-law Patty Mills. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; his Brother Bill (Violet) Mills; and sister Luella (Eddie) Ingram.
Verlin was preceded in death by his wife Darlene; son Daniel; and grandchildren Corey Mills, Chase Mills, Amanda Mills, and Landon Morgan; his Mother, Myrtle; and step-father Lonnie Stokes; brother Jerry Mills; and sister Roberta Colbine.
Verlin spent his early years working in the wood and lumber mills, and 24 years at Hanna Nickel Mine until he retired in 1991. Funeral Services will be held at St Matthew Lutheran Church in Myrtle Creek (Tri City), on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at 1 p.m.
