Verna Mae Stritzke, age 86 passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous struggle with chronic kidney disease on November 20, 2014. She was born in Roseburg, Oregon on August 6, 1928 to Harvey Henry "Harry" Clemons and Gladys Waldo. Verna graduated from Roseburg High School. She met Robert "Bob" Stritzke in 1943 and they married in 1947. Verna and Bob had three children and she worked as a homemaker on the family farm. She enjoyed decorating, RVing to the Oregon coast and Diamond Lake, and snowmobiling with her family. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob of 58 years. Verna is survived by her children; Marsha (Jim) Wright, Stan Stritzke and Jerry Stritzke, grandchildren; Robbie Wright, John Wright, Steven Wright, Melissa Wear, Cara Stritzke, Craig Stritzke, and Mitchell Adair, great grandchildren; Brandy Wear, Trinity Wear, Keith Nelson, brother; Walt (Anita) Clemons, sisters in law; Lorraine Horn, Marji Stritzke, Mary Ann Wescott, Carol Stritzke, Judy Stritzke, Deanna Stritzke, Martha Graham, and Jodie Linnell, brothers in law; Ed Stritzke, and Mickey Stritzke. A special Thank You to caregivers Susie Dinsmore, Mary Ann Wescott, Marsha Wright, Dr. Polly Sepulvado and staff, Dr, Neil Kumar, Renee Baird, Teresa Scott, Janet Mesloh, and Mercy Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. A viewing will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses on Friday November 28, 2014 from 11am to 2 pm. A celebration of Life will be held at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses on Saturday December 6, 2014, at 11am.
