Wayne D. Lemley, a true and faithful servant of the Lord took the hand of Jesus on May 18, 2012. Born to Jeff H. Lemley and Grace T.(Simmons) Lemley on September 27, 1931 in Canute, OK. Preceding him in death were his parents and older brother Alphia L. Lemley. Wayne was a popular stock car racer in the Ashland area in the 1950's and his grandson continues to carry on Wayne's love of racing with the quote "Grandpa has taken the checkered flag of life and is now in victory Lane collecting his trophy." Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Charolette J. Lemley of Roseburg,Janice(Lemley) Christmas and her husband Gene, of Roseburg, Manuella (Lemley) Rosenberger and husband,Anthony, of Roseburg; son Arlen Lemley and wife Kelly of Medford; eight grandchildren and spouses; twenty four great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; two brothers, Dr. Cleatis D Lemley and wife Alice, of Florences OR., and Doyce C Lemley and wife Donna of Princeton, TX, sister in law, Clarice Lemley of Yoncalla, OR; numerous nieces, nephews and their families; howerer last but not least his Brothers and Sisters in Christ throughout this nation and the world. Wayne and Charolette were married in 1949 and moved from Ashland, OR to Roseburg, OR in 1958 to pursue his work with Farm Bureau Insurance. Later, he owned a service station and insurance agency with two brothers; he was well known in Roseburg as a broker/owner of Downtown Realty; a part owner of Wigwam Home construction with brother Doyce, he loved sport/commercial salmon fishing at Winchester Bay, OR and many other endeavors. He lived his passion for the past 25 years of spreading the gospel, traveling to the Ukraine and India many times to help establishe churches, orphanages and teaching schools to train other ministers for the Lord's work. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the I-5 Church of Christ, 175 Heritage Way, Roseburg, OR 97471, for the India work Wayne loved so much. Funeral service will be Friday May 25 at 11:00 AM at the I-5 Church of Christ. Visitation will be Thursday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Wilson's Chapel of the Roses in Roseburg.
