July 6, 1936 — March 8, 2017

WILLIAM I. GRIFFIN 80, of Winchester, Oregon passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017. He was born July 6, 1936 in Benson, Arizona to John and Elsie Griffin. The Griffin family moved to Roseburg, Oregon when William was 14. At the ripe old age of 18 he had his eyes on a cute girl that worked at the Indian Theater in Roseburg. She became the love of his life. He married Evelyn Joanne Moore on June 5, 1955. William retired in 1993 from DFPA after 38 years. Bill and Evelyn spent many years camping with family, crabbing, and walking on the beach. He loved his roses, playing cards and Honky Tonkin with Evelyn and working in his woodshop where he built many beautiful pieces of furniture for family. He was a very handy man. If it needed built, replaced or repaired, just call dad. William had many loves, none more than family and his wife of 61 years, Evelyn. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three children and their families, John Griffin, Carol and Don Block, Jim and Julie Griffin; Daughter-in-law, Katie Griffin. Grandchildren: Serena and Trace Thompson and their children, Emily and Reuben Benavidez and daughter, Bruce and Amanda Baldwin and son, Jennifer and John Paterson, Michelle and Christopher Liles and their children, Julie Griffin's children and grandchildren; Sister Joan and husband Mike Caven and their children and grandchildren; two aunts and numerous cousins.
