William F. "Bill" Ollivant

William Fredrick Ollivant "Bill", age 90, passed away on March 5th, 2014 at 9:00 pm. Bill was born to parents George and Zerita Ollivant. He was raised west of Winston in the Olalla area. He started his schooling in a one room school in Olalla and graduated from High School in Camas Valley, OR. Bill had one brother; Elige Ollivant, two sisters; Eluia and Bonnie, all are deceased. Bill had two children, a son Gary, deceased and a daughter, Sandy Ollivant of Agness, OR. After High School, Bill joined the Navy on October 21, 1942. He took his training in Idaho and was sent to the pacific where he was involved in three or four island invasions. After the war Bill was discharged from active duty on Jan. 9th, 1946. Bill had numerous interests in life, hunting, fishing and people. He was a friend to everyone he met. Bill worked at various jobs, anything from the logging industry to salesman. He worked for Lockwood Ford and Parkway Ford. Bill retired in 1984. Bill's funeral will be held at the V.A. National Cemetery on March 24th, 2014 at 1:00 pm.
