William C Stanley Jr,
1941-2014
Bill passed away at home with his wife and granddaughter at his side. He died on August 31, 2014 at the age of 73.
Life began for Bill on September 30, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the third child born to William C and Sarah(Wooding) Stanley Sr. He grew up in Peoria where he met the love of his life, Regina M. Davis. They were married on October 31, 1959 in Peoria. In 1964 they relocated to Myrtle Creek, Oregon, where Bill worked as a hyster driver and green chain puller at Green Valley Lumber. He became disabled in 1972.
He was a good father not only to his four children but to any kid who came to him for help. He loved fishing, hunting and camping. After losing his hearing his favorite things were working with wood, playing slots, loving trips to the casino, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Regina of Roseburg, two sons; William (Tina) Stanley III of Myrtle Creek, Richard (Cheryl) Stanley of Bremerton, Washington, one daughter; Shari (Ron) Steele of Jamestown, N. Dakota, three grandchildren we raised, Barry (Jeanette) Stanley and Talina ( Donald) Stanley all of New Town N. Dakota, Taysha Johnston of Roseburg . Bill is also survived by three brothers Richard (Henretta) Stanley of Crine Cour, IL, Robert (Kathy) Stanley of East Peoria, IL and George (Dee) Stanley of Myrtle Creek OR., five sisters: Deloris Klammas of Lafayette, Nebraska, Diane McGarvey of Myrtle Creek, Joyce Randal of Peoria, IL Louise (Neal) Kingley of Roseburg, Linda Goodwin of Myrtle Creek twenty grandchildren and fifty plus great grandchildren.
Preceding Bill in death were his parents and a son and daughter in law Raymond and Julie who died 30 years ago on Labor day.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. His wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest at his son's grave. A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 1 pm at the Myrtle Creek Grange, with interment to follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Myrtle Creek.
