William Ron Emburg

WILLIAM RONALD "RON" EMBURG 76 of Roseburg, Oregon passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his home. He was born March 11, 1934 in Portland, Oregon to Edwin and Alferetta Emburg. Ron graduated from Gresham High School in Gresham, Oregon in 1952 and from Multnomah School of the Bible in 1978. He served in the National Guard for 9 years. Ron worked for several years as an Independent businessman for 20 years. Ron served as a missionary with the American Missionary Fellowship for 9 years and became the Regional Director with the American Missionary Fellowship for 15 years until his retirement in June of 2001. Working as a missionary took Ron and Leona to Fox River Grove, Illinois and back to Portland, Oregon. The Emburg's moved to Roseburg after Ron retired in 2001. Ron enjoyed mountain climbing, hiking and was always very involved with teaching in his church. Survivors include his wife of 54 years Leona Emburg; daughters Marie Emburg, Elaine Winebrenner and her husband Michael; sons Phillip Emburg and Douglas Emburg; sisters Sue Yoke and her husband Jim and Sandi Jones; brother Edwin Emburg and his wife Nina; grandchildren Nicholas and Hannah Winebrenner and Elizabeth and William Emburg. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the Melrose Community Church. Pastor Mike Ruyle will officiate. At the family's request contributions may be made in Ron's memory to either the American Missionary Fellowship or Melrose Community Church and these may be left at the service.
