William Sidney Parker

WILLIAM SIDNEY PARKER, of Oakland Oregon, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 16, 2016. Bill was born in Oakland Oregon to Herbert and Rebecca Parker on October 21, 1942. While at Boise Bible College he met and married Judith Garner on June 6, 1964 and enjoyed 51 blessed years of marriage. They raised three amazing children, one son and two daughters. Over a span of 50years, Bill ministered in several churches in the Northwest which included: Centerville, WA; Bandon, OR; Pleasant Hill, OR; Dallas, OR; and Sutherlin, OR. In addition he retired from working for the US Post Office, and continued ministering until he went home to be with the Lord. Family was very important to Bill, he especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also loved spending time with his spiritual family and friends in the many places he ministered and served in throughout his life. He enjoyed rock hounding at the beach and taking long drives around the areas he lived in. He loved watching sports and movies with his family. He also loved the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee and discuss the Bible with a friend.

Bill is survived by his wife Judy; son Brent his wife Tammy and grandchildren Amanda, Matthew and Jesse; daughter Rebecca; daughter Sydney her husband John and grandchildren John Jr, Aliesha her husband Kyle and Andrew; brother Dennis wife Linda and family; and numerous other cherished family members. Bill was preceded in death by his father Herbert and mother Rebecca.

A celebration of Bill's life is planned for February 6, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Oakland Church of Christ. Donations in Bill's memory can be made to Boise Bible College.
